Last night Darling did NOT want to go to bed despite the 15, 10 and 5 minute warning that bedtime was approaching.
The tantrum that ensued was of biblical proportions.
I'm talking F7 tornado, a 6 on the Tantrum Richter scale.
It was a beautiful storm in the ferocity one small, almost 5 yr old was able to produce.
The cats scurried away to hide, I stayed out of arms length and I'm sure the neighbors thought I was skinning her alive.
When she finally calmed down, we began our nightly prayers. We always start by telling God what things we were thankful for that day.
Little Miss McGrumpypants glares over at me and says, "I'm thankful for my BAD. MEAN. Mom"
Sigh. At least bad parenting is in vogue...

Well, it's the thought that counts, I guess

Oh, wow! That's seriously hilarious. I hope it felt hilarious rather than just grating and awful. :( I've got to imagine that only a kid who's really secure can feel safe enough to lash out like that, knowing you're still going to be there...
I know that is in store for me..and I will say Bad? Mean? You have seen NOTHING yet child. LOL.
Our cat flees when our 2 year old gets fired up. I am sure she wonders why he had to come and live with us.
How gracious of her to be thankful for you, regardless of your personality. LOL I think, if my 15 month old could talk, he'd say exactly that. My 4, almost 5 year old boy, loves me too much to say something mean. He'll just think it. Like this morning when he was denied Wii time.
Oh my goodness! I remember those tantrums. I sure hope by saying that they don't come back and just stay a memory.
Well at least she's thankful for you...lol
*HUGS*
How funny!
Hugs!!
Ha hee! Happy Saturday to you! I am slowly making my way around to all the blogs that visited me when I was featured on SITS to say "Thank you". It is indeed a fabulous SITStahood.
Be blessed!
LOL! I feel that my 3-year-old adds this to her prayers every night!
Oh, I forgot.... I came by to welcome you to SITS! We're happy to have you with us!
Stopping by from SITS to say welcome - Hoping you are now experiencing the 'calm' after the storm!
We have been having bedtime battles too! Ugh!
Welcome to SITS! It's great to have you in the SITStahood!
That's one for the books!
Welcome to the SITS community!
That is funny :)
Welcome to SITS!
Visiting from SITS and glad I did. This story made me laugh! Too funny!
Wait until you see the tantrum she'll be able to throw at 15. I speak from personal experience.
Stick with the mean mom thing--she'll thank you some day in the oh-so-distant future!
